At Duke Williams, we respect your right to privacy and aim to comply with all relevant privacy and data protection laws, including Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). We seek to strike a balance between your personal privacy and the free flow of information that enables us to carry out our responsibilities as an educational institution.
In this policy, “Duke Williams”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Duke Williams Company Limited, 10 Fanaa Crescent, Mamprobi, Accra, Ghana. It covers this website, duke-williams.com, and the services we provide to you as an enquirer, applicant or student.
Information we collect
When you send an enquiry, register for a course or request an exam booking, we ask for details such as:
- your name, email address and phone number;
- your city or country;
- your ACCA, CIMA or ICA Ghana registration number;
- the course, paper(s), exam sitting and session you are interested in, and your preferred exam date and time;
- any other information you choose to include in your message.
As a student, we may also hold your student ID, date of birth and address, including your digital address.
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and help you choose the right course, sitting and support.
- To process your course registration or exam booking request, and to confirm fees, payment and next steps.
- To provide and manage your tuition, course materials and student support.
- To contact you by email, phone, SMS or WhatsApp about your course, booking or enquiry.
- To send you news and information about courses, services and events similar to those you have enquired about, unless you have asked us not to.
- To review and improve our courses, services and website.
When we share your information
- Exam results. For the purpose of students’ performance assessment, we provide your personal data to your professional body in order to collect our students’ performance records after the official results are received.
- Student ID cards. Student ID cards are produced in-house by our administration team, so no student personal data is passed to a third party for this purpose.
- With your consent. We may share your information for any other purpose that you agree to.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose your information where required by law or in response to valid requests from public authorities, such as a court or government agency, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights or property, prevent or investigate wrongdoing, protect the personal safety of others, or protect against legal liability.
We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
Our contact page shows an embedded Google Map, and our award winner pages show embedded YouTube videos in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. These services are operated by Google, which may set its own cookies and collect information under its own privacy policy when you view or use them. This website also links to other sites we do not operate, such as ACCA, CIMA, ICA Ghana and our student portal. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for their content or privacy practices, and we advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.
How long we keep your information
We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, and to the extent needed to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements and policies.
Security
The security of your personal data is important to us. We use commercially acceptable means to protect it, but no method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop sending you marketing messages. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
